In August, Churcher's College's Headmaster Simon Williams was 'delighted to announce that the school has reached new heights with 90% of all the exams being graded at A* to B grade whilst also being almost at the top with our A* and A Grades.'
He explained 'amongst the catalogue of personal success stories of the 169 in our A Level cohort, there are 12 students who have achieved three or more A* grades with three achieving a clean sweep in four A Levels. Once again, there will be Churcherians heading off to the most prestigious universities across the UK and a few now venturing to universities abroad. Their exceptional A Level grades are golden passports to those top destinations but, of course, more is needed to make a success of university or beyond and this is where all the experiences and achievements outside the classroom come into play.
The self-confidence that comes from overcoming huge challenges such as swimming across the Channel; the self-discipline that develops from learning a musical instrument and the teamwork from performing on the international stage; the problem-solving and creative skills that are behind a prize-winning artist’s achievements, and many other life skills that are critical to success. It is the Churcherian enthusiasm to embrace all the opportunities inside and outside the classroom that brings such reward and the very well-deserved applause, and sets them up so well beyond their school days.'
