In 1722 Richard Churcher recognised that the children of Petersfield were faced with many trials and tribulations and he set out to help them face and overcome those challenges. Three hundred years later, though of a different nature, the children of today are still required to call upon a deep-seated set of key skills; a basic highway code of education is not enough nor an education and support network that simply ceases at 18 years old.
It is very difficult to predetermine what support is needed and when, but amongst the Churcher’s community there is the most impressive network of people, with an extraordinary range of skills, capable and willing to provide advice and guidance. What the school offers the children whilst here is a breadth and depth beyond simple basic educational needs, but our community should and does offer friendship and support well beyond the school gates and school years.
Churcher’s Community provides a place where Old Churcherians, family, former staff, the local community and other friends can come together in a synergy of life-time friendship, a sense of belonging and shared support to the mutual benefit of all. Whether you need assistance now, or in the future, or are able to offer it and have something to share, we are equally keen to hear from you.
Enjoy exploring beyond this home page but above all, stay connected.

Through the celebrations for the 300th anniversary of Churcher’s we want to engage as many people as possible from our community; pupils; alumni; parents, staff and governors past and present; local businesses and charities and those further afield; all our supporters.
Churcher’s Community aims to make it a bit easier for you to do just that.
We have been delighted with how you have been interacting to date – updating your contact details and communications preferences, booking events, sharing stories, connecting with one another, buying merchandise, accessing the archive. Over 1,000 people have created online profiles since we launched and that number continues to grow. We hope you find it useful and thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm to engage, for your contributions and your feedback. There is a lot more we hope to offer through Churcher’s Community and we will continue to introduce more features as we go.
It will also be the home for all plans and news relating to the tercentenary celebrations. During this very special year for the College, we want as many of you as possible to get involved and we hope we can all look back and say we did Richard Churcher proud.
