The Summer Party 2025

The Summer Party raises over £20,000 for the Richard Churcher Foundation...

On a glorious Midsummer’s evening, the Summer Party brought together friends and family from the Churcher’s Community for a third year running. The party was held on the Headmaster’s Lawn, with spectacular views overlooking the school playing fields towards Butser, the South Downs and beyond! Once again, the school community gave generously and the event raised over £20,000 for the Richard Churcher Foundation and the provision of bursaries.

Whilst guests arrived and enjoyed a refreshing glass of Pimms, Rosie Botham (19) sang a delightful mix of songs from different genres including rhythm and blues, pop, jazz and musical theatre. Once again, it was a Churcher’s team effort bringing together all the right ingredients to make the evening such a success - auction items, raffle prizes and Sign-up parties were donated for free by the Churcher’s community; the giant marquee was decorated by parent volunteers; with floral arrangements overseen by current parent and Govenor Justine Morris. Chris Pellett (11), Joe Chads (19) and current staff member, Matt Currie, oversaw lighting, sound and stage whilst current Churcher’s Governor, Robert Ingram provided the bar, and the ever fabulous school catering team provided a delicious BBQ and salad bar, with trays of mini desserts for pudding.

After dinner speeches were given by Nick Smith, Head of Development and Headmaster Simon Williams drew the raffle prizes. Former parent Susan Orringe, led the live auction with an amazing array of lots which drew enthusiastic interest from the guests. Once the auction was over the guests danced and chatted the night away.
