On the eve of the 31 January parents and friends gathered together at Greyfriar's vineyard for a relaxed evening of wine and cheese tasting, generously hosted by former Churcher's parents Mike and Hilary Wagstaff.
Seated together at Greyfriar's wooden benches and wine barrels, guests were presented with an array of delicious wines which were paired perfectly with a wonderful variety of cheese which was also kindly provided by current Churcher's parents, Richard and Jennie Royds of The Haslemere Cellar and Cheesebox. Both Mike and Richard spoke in detail about their chosen wine and cheese, with knowledge and flair, unveiling the balance of flavours and colour as well as the origins, production and labour behind every sip of wine and mouthful of cheese!
Over £1,000 was raised for the Richard Churcher Foundation, with Greyfriars Vineyard and The Haslemere Cellar and Cheesebox donating a very generous 15% of sales on the night to the Foundation, thereby helping provide transformational bursaries to families whose children would otherwise be unable to benefit from a Churcher's education.
Thank you to all those who were able to join in the fun to make this such an enjoyable evening!
