On Saturday 29 June, the Churcher's community came together for the Foundation Summer Party in aid of the Richard Churcher Foundation and the provision of bursaries.
Generously hosted by current Churcher's parents, the party started with welcome drinks on the lawn with far reaching views to the South Downs, serendaded by singing from current teacher John Lofthouse and OC Rosie Botham (19) and a delightful mix of songs from opera, music theatre and jazz.
A giant marquee was decorated with lighting, bunting, lanterns and countryside flowers of pink, lilac and blue which were beautifully arranged by volunteers including parents and friends of Churcher's College. A delicious dinner catered by 'Susan's Cruisin Cuisine' was followed by speeches and a live auction led by former parent and auctioneer Susan Orringe.Guests bid on auction lots, signed up to a range of parties and pledged gifts to the Richard Churcher Foundation.
Current staff member, Ian Crossman, was the MC who kept the evening in order and the evening was rounded off with dancing to the disco beats of DJ OC Simon Crates.
Over £30,000 was raised on the night for the Foundation and the provision of bursaries - a fantastic achievement!
We would like to thank our hosts for welcoming so many guests into their grounds, all our donors and volunteers and everyone who attended on the night who helped to make the evening such a great success.
