On a crisp Friday evening in February 40 parents and friends joined the Development Office for a Wine and Cheese tasting evening generously hosted by former parents Mike and Hilary Wagstaff from Greyfriars Vineyard.
Seated together in the tasting room, guests were presented with a wide range of delicious wines which perfectly matched the very enjoyable variety of cheeses kindly provided by Churcher's parents Richard and Jennie Royds of The Haslemere Cellar and Cheesebox.
Mike and Richard spoke about their chosen wine and cheese in detail, including the balance of flavours and colour, as well as the origins, production of and labour which went into each sip of wine and each mouthful of cheese!
Over £1,800 was raised for the Richard Churcher Foundation, with Greyfriars Vineyard and The Haslemere Cellar and Cheesebox both generously donating 15% of sales on the night to the Foundation, helping to provide transformational bursaries to families whose children would otherwise be unable to benefit from a Churcher's education.
Thank you to all of those who were able to join us for this fun evening!
