On Saturday 9 December, a wonderful afternoon of Christmas wreath making was held at Froxfield Village Hall in aid of the Richard Churcher Foundation.
Over 23 parents and friends from the Churcher's community came together for a fun-filled festive afternoon, where creative ideas were flowing and everyone could try their hand at traditional Christmas wreath making. Mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas music set the scene and this together with an abundance of holly, ivy and fir recreated a winter wonderland atmosphere with a winter forest smell to match! It was interesting to see how different each individual wreath could look - with the additonal finishing touches of Chinese lanterns, ribbons, cinnamon sticks, dried oranges and apples. Each creation was unique and everyone went home with a beautifully personalised masterpiece with which to adorn their front door - just in time for Christmas!
The Christmas party was the last in a line of 'sign-up' events launched in June this year at the Foundation Summer Party, with the aim of bringing people together for fun, friendship and fundraising for the Richard Churcher Foundation. Other events this year have included a sushi making evening, a gin tasting evening and a guided walk to the Poet's Stone.
Thank you to all our sign-up party hosts who underwrote the costs, so that all attendee contributions have been directed to the Richard Churcher Foundation and the provision of bursaries.
