Open to pupils, parents, staff, OCs and friends the project aims to get everyone active and raise awareness of the United World Schools (UWS) Mude School in Nepal.
Louisa Taylor, Director of Sport at Churcher’s, explains: “The challenge is designed for everyone so if it's a walk, cycle, run, skateboard, paddleboard or swim, any distances can be submitted. UWS are delighted with the concept and have filmed a special good luck message for all participants on their journey which I hope will inspire us as we virtually travel the world in the next few weeks!”
The challenge is open to all members of the Churcher's community, including Old Churcherians. There will be prizes awarded for the furthest distance travelled and a leader board in school when the pupils return next week. To log distances, participants simply submit on a special Firefly page, which features a map showing the collective school progress on this epic journey. In addition, there is a dedicated Twitter account @ChurchersToMude which will map the journey across Europe and beyond.
Churcher’s College has had links to Mude for many years which is what inspired the choice of destination. More detail on our history of supporting this amazing project can be found by clicking on this link: UWS Mude Charity Work.
