On Thursday 30 September a drinks party was held at the 'In & Out' club in London, attended by over 70 OCs from 25 year groups and staff to kick off the celebrations for the 300th anniversary of Churcher's College.
Focusing on rekindling old friendships and drawing on the importance of the Richard Churcher Foundation, Nick Smith, Head of Development, and Headmaster, Simon Williams, welcomed guests who had travelled far and wide to attend the evening, speaking of the enduring legacy of Richard Churcher who, in his will of 1722, provided for a school in the town of Petersfield, to educate 10 or 12 boys to be trained in the arts of writing, arithemtic and the mathematics of navigation. With student numbers for both the Junior and Senior Schools totaling over 1,230, the Richard Churcher legacy truly lives on.
