On Saturday 10 May, whilst the OC Reunion lunch celebrations were taking place, OC authors gathered in the school's library to open a new dedicated space to showcase the books of OC authors and illustrators. Thanks to the inspiration of David Newns OC (65), the library now has a dedicated space for over 30 books which have been written and / or illustrated by OCs covering topics as far reaching as 'The Business of Sport Management' to 'The story of the National Memorial Arboretum', and 'Ebb and Flow, a guide to seasonal living'.
We were fortunate enough to have three of the authors with us at the OC lunch, pictured above holding the books they have written, alongside David Newns. Peter Saxton OC (65), author of 'Helicopters and North Sea Oil', David Childs OC (65), author of ' The Warship Mary Rose' among others, and John Beech OC (65), author of 'The Business of Sport Management', all of whom were delighted to see their works on display in the new dedicated space.
If you are an OC who has written or illustrated a book and would like to donate a copy to the Churcher's College library and to help inspire future generations of authors and illustrators to come, please contact the Development Office, we would love to hear from you!
