On Saturday 6 January, Mike Swan and Fred Cooke (04) returned with a number of their peers to play a reunion football match on the school grounds - 20 years after leaving Churcher's College. The football match is an annual event for the group, which has been organised every January since they left school, with some even travelling from abroad to make the occasion.
The match is normally played on an available pitch in the Godalming/Haslemere area but to mark the 20th anniversary the team contacted Churcher's College to see if they could play on school grounds. It was wonderful to see so many come back and play, and to also welcome back friends and families, many of whom were Old Churcherians themselves. The group managed a full 90 minute match (and no injuries!), with teams split into rivals ‘Petersfield’ and ‘Mere’, and former staff member Magan Singodia volunteering to referee!
We hope to welcome the group back for another game at school in the future!
