If you enjoy being creative and would like to get involved in a fantastic art project to celebrate the 300th anniversary, read more about the opportunity below...
Dressing the ship is a nautical phrase that is commonly used in the celebration of a significant event. For example, you would dress a ship for an important anniversary. The process involves using already used International Maritime Signal Flags presented along dressing lines from stemhead to masthead. The art department at Churcher's College would like to invite the community of the school to participate in an art project, designing your own flags and celebrating the life of the school. We would like to create a dressing of the school ship - the logo, that connects us all through this wonderful place.
It is our aim to invite pupils, staff and Old Churcherians to share thoughts of their Churcher's College experience. Answering the questions on the design sheet and then sketching out some ideas of personal memories. We would like you to then choose a design that best represents your views and produce a larger (A4) size design on the back.
We intend to choose 100 designs from around the school that will then be made into our very own set of nautical flags, that can be used for future celebrations.
Think carefully about the answers to the questions as we would also like to record the written reflections of the community.
You can download the design sheets by clicking the links below:
Please send your completed sheets to the Development Office, Churcher's College, Ramshill, Petersfield, GU31 4AS by 10 June 2022.
We look forward to seeing your designs!
