With Covid-19 and lockdown #2 scuppering all plans for Churcher's to host the annual 1722 Society lunch for members who have generously pledged a gift to the Richard Churcher Foundation in their will, we decided to take Churcher's to them by taking the event online.

The theme for the afternoon was "Churcher's in the time of Covid" to give attendees a snippet of the experiences pupils have been having during the pandemic. Simon Williams, Headmaster, welcomed and thanked the 1722 Society membership, highlighting the importance of community and the Richard Churcher Foundation during challenging times like these. History teacher, Hannah Swindells, took everyone through an example of a remote sixth form enrichment lesson before the Reverend Canon Will Hughes, School Chaplain, Vicar of St Peter's Parish Church in Petersfield and current parent followed with an interesting take on Advent and the Christmas message.

The afternoon ended with a mini concert from our pupils demonstrating how, despite the many restrictions in place, music has continued to flourish at Churcher's.

A gift in your will can help support the provision of bursaries at Churcher’s or be directed to a part of College life which is most meaningful to you. Every year the school invites members to an annual lunch and other events at Churcher’s. We are keen to grow the 1722 Society and would be delighted to welcome new members. If you are interested in joining this special group, please get in touch with Nick or Vanessa in the Development Office.
