The Twmpa Cycles Ash Frame will soak up the toughest terrain

OC Miguel Ferros (84) has recently launched a bicycle manufacturing company with a unique twist.

Ferros, usually to be found coaching and mentoring businesses, became beguiled by the beauty of a bike that a friend had made from wood. To such an extent, that he decided to go into business with him. With a Covid-affected launch in September, they have already been featured in Cyclist magazine and are looking forward to similar attention from Top Gear Magazine and the Sunday Times.

"At Twmpa Cycles we set-out to design and manufacture the finest gravel bikes in the UK with unique, handbuilt wooden frames," said Ferros. "On top of these bikes being a work of art and built from a sustainable source, they are also the best ride over gravel, green lanes and even poor city roads. They are very light and strong, (having passed BS EN ISO 4210-2-2015) and the cell structure of Ash acts like thousands of tiny shock-absorbers, to deliver a comfortable but responsive ride over challenging surfaces."

You can read more on their website (www.twmpacycles.co.uk) and enter their competition for a weekend in Hay-on-Wye test riding one of their bikes, with free accommodation.
