OC Ted Herrington (65) and his wife Jackie have been popping into the Development Office as volunteers helping to re-order the Archive - a project which commenced in the autumn term. Ted left Churcher's in 1965 and had a fulifilling career in Hampshire as a Chartered Surveyor, whilst Jackie worked as a secretary/administrator for West Dean from 1977. We have been enjoying their company and invaluable support in the office; however on 12 November we had some surprise guests who joined us...
OC Malcolm Daniels (62) and his wife Sue, who live in France, were passing through Petersfield and decided to drop into Churcher's College for the first time since Malcolm left in 1962. After introducing themselves, Malcolm and Sue were taken on a tour of the College and then visited the Development Office. By chance, Ted and Jackie were volunteering that day which made for a very serendipitious encounter! Ted and Malcolm were able to swap stories of college days in the 60s, they have friends in common, and were even in the same house - Rodney!
Having made contact at school, Ted and Jackie invited Malcolm and Sue to lunch at the local pub The Harrow, where stories continued to be shared over food and drinks! If you would like to visit the school do contact the Development Office on 01730 236 833, or keep an eye on any upcoming events and join us at the reunions please follow the link here.
