OC Christopher Knight (70) retired from his last paid job as Executive Secretary of the International Society for Science and Religion some years ago but he continues to work in an unpaid capacity as a priest of the Eastern Orthodox Church. He is both the Rector of the Orthodox Parish of the Holy Transfiguration in Great Walsingham, Norfolk, and an Associate Lecturer and Senior Research Associate of the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge.
Christopher writes on theological topics, mostly in academic journals but occasionally in books, of which he has so far produced five. The most widely-read of these books has been the third - “Science and the Christian Faith: A Guide for the Perplexed” (St. Vladimir’s Seminary Press, 2020). The fifth book "Exploring Religious Pluralism: From Mystical Theology to the Science-Theology Dialogue", is to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2024. Despite abandoning astrophysics soon after attaining his Ph.D. in that subject in 1977, he is kept in touch with the astrophysical world by his wife, Cathie Clarke, who is both Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics in Cambridge University and co-Director of that university’s Institute of Astronomy.
