OC news |
OC Archie Somers (21) along with his brother Ollie and three friends have just completed a gruelling journey across the Himalayas in two tuk-tuks, all in aid of three charities close to their hearts. September is childhood cancer awareness month and they are raising funds for Young Lives vs Cancer, Supershoes inspired by the daughter of a friend who is undergoing treatment for cancer at the moment and Cool Earth who work alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction (Ollie and Archie are both studying Geography at Exeter University). Archie even missed the beginning of Freshers Week in order to complete the two week challenge.
Having travelled to altitudes of over 5,000 metres with some very steep drops and no comms they reached the finish line all in one piece and were delighted when they found out they were the first to arrive! Well done on such an epic undertaking.

If you wish to donate their fundraising page can be found at Just Giving.
