Arts and Culture |
Growing up in Ontario, Canada with four distinct seasons Olga has felt influenced by a feeling of space as well as a range of colour from vibrant to muted. Having lived in Japan, spent summers in Greece, where her parents are originally from, and now in the UK, one can see a unique flair and fusion of cultural influences in her work. Still life paintings which feature evocative vintage vessels, beautiful objects and florals painted so tenderly that they become subjects. Olga is interested in the idea of time and a feeling of nostalgia and memory which she captures in her serene still life work. Working mainly in oils, Olga uses brushes, palette knives and her fingers to apply paint. She has also been learning to throw pots and vessels on a potter's wheel.
Olga has recently been elected as Chairperson of Haslemere Art Society.
